Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation is referred to as Rotary’s own charity.

Working together with other Rotary Clubs around the world, we help fund activities like the End Polio Now campaign, which over 35 years has eliminated polio from all but two countries.

The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

The Rotary Foundation Global Grant scheme allows Rotary Clubs to partner across the world, and access matched funding for projects within the foundation’s seven areas of focus: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, saving mothers and children, supporting the environment and growing local economies.

The Rotary Foundation’s world fund target is to raise USD $410 million this year. The Annual Fund target is $135 million from Rotary clubs this year – each club need to contribute to the Foundation to keep the pot growing, so that our Rotary Charity is able to do more good work in the world.

Our Rotary in London D1130 is helping our Putney Rotary Club with District match funding for our Beirut Campaign to raise funds for Karantina Hospital, the only state hospital in the administrative area of Beirut – to help the poor and needy. The Rotary Foundation will also match the District monies, so our projects can be achieved sooner, with the Rotary Foundation’s help.

We will also be calling upon Foundation funds for our Uganda water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project.

Please donate to the Rotary Foundation directly – your contribution will go a long way, as all Rotarian members are volunteers – there are no salaries to be paid. It’s one of the best ways we can help in humanitarian efforts across the globe.
